Ex-supermodel Vaneeza might be away from the limelight, but she proves time and again what it is that made her the undisputed fashion queen of her time. While many wonít stray away from the usual monochrome when deciding their red carpet looks, Vinnie went for a solid and bold one-colour scarlet gown by Fahad Hussayn. She also paired the gown fearlessly with traditional details like gorgeous kundan waist belt and jewellery with deep green stones. Completing her look with a clutch and a clean up do, she definitely looked like queen.
Mawra Hocane went all out by engaging international design houses Daniele Carlotta and Bottega Veneta for her look. Her bouncy waves went perfectly well with the mood of her silhouette; the playful multicoloured bodice and three-tiered bubble gum tulle gown made her look truly dreamy. Komal Aziz managed to look different in a gorgeous lightly embroidered sari by Tena Durrani in subdued gold and nude tones. Her eye for details is praise-worthy in this look; retro waves and a box clutch kept her looking too decked up for the red carpet, while her bold green statement earrings reminded us of the time Angelina Jolie paired her majestic black gown with emerald eardrop earrings. This is using colour contrasting techniques at its best!

The culprits
While red can be a perfect statement colour on its own, itís a shame that lack of vision can make it look this bad. Singer Zoe Viccaji opted for a satin finish red number by Sadaf Malaterre, but bad ironing really put a wrinkle in her overall look (pun intended). Poor accessories were probably the last nail in this coffin, and without much happening in the hair, make-up and accessory department, this look just fell flat, even though it had a lot of potential. Actress Meeraís appearance was surprising at this red carpet for two reason; one that she is not normally seen attending a lot of shows and events, two that she was quite horribly dressed, if we dare say so ourselves. Shabbily dressed in, what hardly qualifies to be called, a gown by designer Aqsa, her dress is the prime example of layering and colour contrasting gone wrong.
There are so many details that stood out in Sanamís look and many for good reason. This Grecian-inspired gown by Mansoor Akram was absolutely flattering on her body, the straps on the bodice made her arm look flattering, a soft up do with wavy fly aways made her look absolutely serene. Not that these colours are unflattering on her, but we wish either the gown or the bodice was of a different, better hue, or even same for that matter, so as to not make the outfit look dull.
